Hi, I’m Dr. Arelia Johnson — sociologist, strategist, and truth-teller. I became an expert in diversity, equity, and inclusion by doing the real work: from teaching in public schools to leading equity initiatives in one of the largest, most diverse counties in the U.S. As a Black woman in systems that weren’t built for me, I faced resistance, erasure, and isolation — but I turned those barriers into frameworks, tools, and liberation-centered language that transforms institutions. I’m excited to share what I’ve learned because I know the right words can spark bold leadership, and my greatest goal is to help you lead with courage, clarity, and truth — no matter what room you're in.
